DYSTOBEL OVERVIEW
Yo dude, Check this out: Dystobel is this rad metroidvania and platformer game where you switch between powers like fire, ice, and electricity. You gotta dodge and shut down enemy attacks while exploring this kingdom that’s totally under the thumb of Lord Solomon. There are ton’s of items to snag that’ll boost your attack defense and health. With all those power switches, you can even block the big boss attacks trying to wreck your adventure, man!
About the developer: Yo, I’m Kenneth! I’m developing Dystobel all by myself, and trust me, there’s been a ton of hours and learning crammed into this game. I have put so much love, into it and I hope you can feel it in the final product. It is only my second game, but I am pouring my heart and soul, into it to give you the best experience, possible.
Main mechanics: So, swapping between elements (fire, ice, electricity) lets you block enemy projectiles. But heads up, some enemies are immune to certain attacks, so you gotta switch it up to dish out max damage while dodging what they throw at you.
Equipable items: On your journey, you’ll find life bottles that boost your max health, plus items you can equip in the main menu to tweak your attack and defense. Want to be a glass cannon and wreck stuff but take heavy hits? Or maybe a tank that barely feels damage but takes forever to beat enemies? Or maybe you’ll mix it up for a balanced playstyle? Equipping items lets you adjust the game difficulty to your preferred style.
Graphics: All the graphics, from the main character and enemies to the bosses and backgrounds, are hand-drawn by me. I’m no pro animator or cartoonist, but I’m putting in the work to make the animations look smooth and cool. Hope you dig the style (or maybe even find it a little unsettling, haha).
