FUTURE SWASHBUCKLER OVERVIEW
Yo, dude, this game is like a Soul-like swordplay marathon where you’re battling it out from dawn to dusk, flipping between two characters based on the situation. You are a knight working for a futuristic city and you gotta be smart about your fights dodging damage to keep your job. The company’s super strict, so if you slack off for even a day, you’re getting the boot, and it’s game over.
When night hits, your day’s battles get reviewed. If you score a B or better, you’re safe and still employed. But if you dip below that, you’re fired and it’s game over. Survive and you’ll face off against a boss. Rinse and repeat for five days, and if you beat the big boss on day five, you’ve made it to the end.
At the start of each stage, you pick one out of ten cards. These cards mess with stuff like stamina (yours or the enemy’s), attack power (yours or the enemy’s), and how fast you gain XP. The enemy’s or your status changes depending on the card you choose.
One of your characters always has a blue frame around their face, which means if you switch to them, your attack power gets a 1.5x boost. So the key is to keep switching to the character with the boost to kick some serious butt.
On the mini–map, you’ll see crosses (for health), gears (for XP), swords (to boost attack power), and triangles (to boost your company rep) scattered randomly. You can grab up to three sword marks and upgrade them. Sword upgrades have different rarities and random values.
Grabbing a cross mark will heal 50 health for both characters. You gotta hang tough and survive all five days. When the game ends, it’s back to square one, but you get to keep your sword upgrade.
