All the big shots started as interns, and you’ve only got seventeen cycles to prove you belong in the newsroom.
They have got me covering hyper local stories like shuttle crashes intersolar cat shows and even space ghost funerals. It’s totally up to me which ones I go after!
Once I pick my assignment, it’s off to the shuttle bay for intern adventures! That means interviewing sources digging deep and investigating like crazy. Gotta make sure my conversational circuits are smooth—I’ll be talking to over 100 characters, asking tons of questions, and earning (or losing) trust along the way.
The more I uncover, the better my story will be when I file it. I get to use this Build-a-Story tool to craft my article using all the info I gather. Depending on who I talk to and the choices I make, my story’s quality and tone will change. No pressure, right?
This internship isn’t just about reporting though. I’ll also be hanging out on the Scanner, their spacebound newsroom. It is where we eat sleep work and chill. Plus there is a whole crew of diverse characters to get to know including fellow reporters editors, pilots, and even some quirky Shuttlebots.
And get this—it’s not all work. I can customize my robo chassis and grab upgrades from the Shuttlebots. And when I need a break from the hustle, I can recharge my batteries in the Garden, though it’s seen better days. Maybe I will find some seeds to bring it back to life.
The team behind Times & Galaxy are ex-journalists who’ve worked on games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, so they’ve made this game feel like real journalism (but with aliens!). It is not just about the news, it is about the relationships and choices I make along the way.
